Dwynwen Stepien
Chair
Dwynwen's passion for education and family services started when she was a youth worker and parent governor in Portsmouth. Since then she has worked as a senior manager in local authorities including Hampshire and West Sussex, her last post being Director of Transformation. She moved to Emsworth and now retired she is enjoying life as part of the Emsworth community working with the Emsworth Forum and now with Emsworth CLT and other local organisations.
Dr Theo Schofield
Vice Chair
Theo was a GP in The Medical Centre in Warwickshire for 35 years. He was involved in primary care team development and worked with the local community to build a Day Centre in the Community Hospital, to set up a community transport scheme, and to develop Shipston Home Nursing. He also held academic posts in the University of Oxford and was a Member of the Council of the Royal College of General Practitioners. He moved to Emsworth in 2012, and is Chairman of the Emsworth Residents Association and a Trustee of the Friends of Emsworth Community Health.
Harry F Thuillier
Treasurer
Harry has a commercial and finance background and is Chairman of Racelogic Ltd in Buckingham where he has worked for the last 20 years. He has been Chair of Governors at a school near Buckingham and latterly a Governor at a special needs school near Southampton. He moved to Emsworth early in 2017 and works with the Emsworth Forum and now with the Emsworth CLT.
Ellie Turnbull
Secretary
Ellie's early career in the public sector involved working with organisations to train and develop young people. In the last 20 years of her working life she ran her own business as a management consultant working with large and small businesses in both the public and private sector focussing on developing the business through developing their people.
Mike Ridley
Director
Mike was educated in Portsmouth and returned to the area in 2016 after a career as a building and business consultant. He was a senior partner in a London-based firm of surveyors and architects and gained diverse experience in project, facilities and asset management and procurement policy for a range of clients. He has had a 30-year involvement with the Portsmouth Naval Base Property Trust where he has been a trustee since 2007. Until recently he was also a committee member of the Abbeyfield Dulwich Society and an external adviser to the board of the Royal College of Physicians.
Shirley Farmer
Director
Shirley's career spanned the NHS and the Voluntary Sector working in executive roles in London teaching hospitals and independent consultancies helping charities develop innovative funding strategies. She has lived in Emsworth since 1990.
Peter Tier
Committee
Peter was born in Emsworth and became a naval architect. He managed a self-build project of 10 houses and latterly ran a marine survey Company. He served as Chair/President of Yacht Brokers and Designers Association, chair of ERA and Friends of Emsworth Community Health
Charles Ashe
Comittee
Charles has lived in Emsworth since 1990 and has been a member of the ERA committee since 2013 with responsibility for planning. His professional background was in shipbroking in London, and latterly recruitment, before retiring in 2012.
Jill Millar
Committee
Jill is Treasurer of the Emsworth Community association. and Vice Chairman of Emsworth Residents Association. She has been involved in Emsworth Community activities for a number of years.
Maggie Gebbett
Comittee
Maggie was most recently Head of Communications for a Housing Association and is pleased to do some work in the local community when not sailing and enjoying her other hobbies. Maggie now lives near Nore Barn Woods and belongs to a number of local societies.
Dan Grove
Committee
Dan first visited Emsworth in 1972 and has been a regular visitor since then, eventually retiring here in 2015. A statistician by profession, he taught in universities in the UK and USA and worked as a consultant in the automotive and aerospace industries, helping engineers to use statistics effectively in design and production.
